San Juan Homeschool Co-op 2025/2026 School Schedule

We are a Homeschool Co-op with big aspirations for the future and a simple structure for our third year of operations.  Our philosophy is that every family is welcome and encouraged to participate in a way that is best for their family. Although we have some agreed-upon curriculum we also understand that each family uses their curriculums of choice.

For example, most of the participating families have adapted to the Math U See Curriculum.  However, a couple of families come with a different Math curriculum that works better for their children.  Either way works for us.

We meet on Wednesdays from 10:00 – 1:30 at Islands Community Church.  We have a loose homeschool-style schedule.  Our present students are in grades K – 6. Younger siblings are always welcome.  Our loose schedule is as follows:

10:00 - 10:15 start and show and tell

Students that have show and tell items will do them here and then we will start our subjects

2

10:15 - 11:15 Math, Spanish, Math Games

During this time our students will be taught/tutored between math, Spanish, and math games. They will rotate to the next subject every 20 minutes, so they can do all three.

3

11:15 - 12:00 Lunch and Recess

A favorite time for the kids to hang out together.  Those coming just for science often also come for lunch and recess.

4

12:00 - 1:00 Science

Ms. Hannah leads science.  This year we are using the Apologia, Exploring Creation Through Land Animals of the Sixth Day.  On Wednesdays, the emphasis is on the science experiments for each chapter.  Therefore, even families who are not using this curriculum benefit from joining in the fun.

5

1:00 - 1:15 Cleanup

This is the time we have set aside to cleanup the building and put everything away.

6

1:30 - 2:30 Music

Carrie Brooks teaches a fabulous music class at an alternant location.  Anyone interested is encouraged to talk with Diana first. The class is for 3rd graders and up.
